One of the more humorous stories I have heard about Searcy County genealogy concerns a school teacher from Dennard who taught social studies in Marshall. After receiving and grading a fifth grade class assignment to do their family trees she is reputed to have declared, "Why after three generations they were all copying off of each other." For us the lesson should be that there is bound to be someone in Searcy County kin to you who can help with the family tree (or whom you can help with the family tree.) Searcy Co.
