I have to wonder WHY there is so little information posted online about interments (cemetery surveys) in Searcy County cemeteries? It just seems odd that a county that hosts an ancestor fair, and attracts the attention of so many genealogists, would have so little information online. tony
Amen! Have often wondered that myself. But came to the conclusion, after attending one of the ancestor fairs, that if it were free, on line, then we'd no longer have to purchase the Cemetery Record BOOKS. I purchased two of the Searcy County Cemetery Record books, thinking I'd have all of the cemetery records--but the largest one isn't in these. Wonder how many more isn't in these books? I was fairly disgusted, to find I didn't have--what I thought I'd purchased!! Jerri and Tony - I feel I need to say this to both of you. I have been attending the Ancestor Fair in Searcy Co., AR for about 10 years now. And I have found it very helpful in my researching in Searcy Co., plus I now have a booth in the fair. The fair itself is FREE - if you chose to buy anything from one of the booths that is selling information that is your choice. No one will make you buy anything. And you can exchange information with anyone and everyone that attends - FREE! About the Cemetery Record Books - if you will look in the front of the books you bought Jerri - it will tell you that it was written by a lady from OR - this lady did all the research and wrote these books a number of years ago. Long before the internet came along! She died a few years back - but someone in her family is now selling them. Why they are not on the internet - I cannot answer that, but you can bet that they will be in the near future, the rate this web world is moving! As far as the Ancestor Fair having anything to do with your problem is not correct - it does not have anything to do with your problem. So please do not blame the wonderful Ancestor Fair of Northern Arkansas for this. That is very unfair. Thank you - and please try and attend the Fair - it will be well worth your time - I promise!
