The 1870 census shows a G W Sitton and wife Rosine living in the twsp of Upton in Texas county Missouri with children Sarah age 3 and Willis age 1. The 1880 census shows G W and Rozene Sitton living in St Joe Arkansas with children Sarah age 13, Willis age 10, NBR age 8, MMJ age 5, and CH age 2. Willis was shot and instantly killed on March 25 1901 by a 19 year old man named John Allen. He was in the company of George Terrell and Fonzo Cash when they stopped to buy whiskey from the home of Alice Hardester where the young Allen was living. A disturbance erupted and Allen shot Willis one time striking him in the chest.
