Some are there to sell books, like the various county historial societies will have books on that particular county: census, marriages, cemeteries, wills, court records. Then there are others who will have their own family history on their table. They are there to share information they may have on their family and hope people will come talk to them about the family. They will not have anything to sell, just hunting for more information and willing to share it with others. Then there will be commercial tables that are only there to sell books, CDs, etc. At times there are other miscellaneous offerings. For instance, the last two years, Leslie Cemetery Association has had a table. They are trying to find out who is buried in the unmarked graves in this cemetery and information on each person buried there. Several years there was a commercial printer who copied and enhanced pictures for those atte! nding. So you can see there is a variety of information available. On Friday night after the workshops are over, there is a dinner for anyone wishing to attend. At this you get to talk to all the other folks who are there. My husband, C. L. and I, have not missed one of these in the years it has been held. C. L.'s Boyd family is from Leslie before 1850, so we were really interested in this fair. It is the neatest thing I have ever attended. But it is not just for Searcy County families, many other counties will be represented. I think you will enjoy it and am sure you will find things on your families. Sincerely, Lina Boyd Dover, Pope Co. AR
