    3. I was in Fayetteville this past week and wanted to put in a plug for the Fayetteville public library and the Courthouse archives (which is in the old Courthouse building.) The library has a really good genealogy collection, including the Searcy county cemetery books, and a nice new book by Gregory A. Boyd _Family Maps of Searcy County, Arkansas _ (Arphax Publishing Co., 2006 -- their website is: http://www.arphax.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=AP&Product_Code=1-4203-0399-6&Category_Code=ar I also found an index to criminal court records, even just indictments where there was no trial. I found my great-grandfather, Rufus Blair, had been indicted. The courthouse archives has the civil and criminal court records, and I found that Rufus had been indicted for receiving stolen goods in 1931 -- including two buckets of lard! His case never went to trial, and only one of the four alleged thieves who sold him the lard and other goodies was convicted. The staff at the courthouse archives is very kind and hardworking. They have indexed the civil court records and I finally found my grandparents' divorce (1936). I would've done the genealogy happy dance, except I can't dance. - Heather http://surgerysupport.uchicago.edu/hblair/
