I don't normally post much, but I wanted to take a minute to sing the praises of the Ancestor Fair we had a couple of weeks ago. Last year was my first year and I met so many friendly people, many of which turned out to be my cousins. I was just starting out with genealogy and learned a great deal. I brought my dad and grandmother with me and got them interested in learning more about our family roots. The scenery in Searcy County is beautiful. Seldom have I been in a place that is so serene. My grandmother, father and I came back this year for the fair with my newborn son, Wyatt. We learned a lot about tracing our Native American roots and met old friends and new ones, too. Thanks so much to those of you who coordinated and participated in this event. We had a great time and have decided to make it to Marshall every year for the fair. I may even set up a booth of my own next year. If you haven't had the pleasure of attending one yet, you should put it on your calendar to do next summer. Hope to see you there! Nikki how about posting your surnames? The Ancestor Fair is always the first weekend in June. I would like to add my thanks also to those who volunteer many hours in preparation for the Ancestor Fair weekend. Another successful year.
