Gayla, Camlin sounds like Camden to me...there was no Camlin listed in my 1880's Rand McNally for Arkansas. He was born about 1860 in Camlin (according to family, although I can't seem to find Camlin anywhere) and was married to SARAH MORRISON (b.1863 in Searcy Co.). > > I believe he had two brothers and two sisters. One brother was WOODARD. The other went by MULLIS, although I'm not sure if that's his given name. I know Mullis was married to Sarah Morrison's sister, NANCY CAROLINE, and I have found his name listed as ELIJAH COMMULIS Mitchell. His sisters were ANN and JANE, I believe. I found a Woodard Little Mitchell who married Lugena Elizabeth Brown (in 1878, Snowball, Searcy Co.). If he is the right Woodard, he was born in Walton, GA in 1855, parents ABNER and ELIZABETH). > > Eligah and Sarah's daughter (my grandmother) NOMA FRANCES (b.1888 near Snowball), m. CHESTER A. ARTHUR HENDRIX. Eligah and Sarah lived apart for many years, Eligah on his mountain near Richland and Sarah in Oklahoma with daughter Lorena. Noma and Chester's kids are Ora, Ona, Versie, Bervin, Irene, Loretta (my mother) and Velma. > > Any help with this Mitchell line would be greatly appreciated, as my information is not very concrete, and I seem to be stuck. > > Thanks, > Gayla Pogue DeHart >
