    3. Abner had two militry services with the CSA: He was 2nd Corporal, Co. G (Sulphur springs Twp.), 45th Arkansas Militia from Nov 20 to Dec 20, 1861 And Pvt. Co F, 32nd Arkansas Infantry, from June 12, 1862 to August 25, 1862, when he received a medical discharge. According to family tradition he was killed and scalped by Indians in Texas in the 1870-1873 period. His family then returned to Arkansas, I've heard. This relates to the story of the family being haunted by ghosts who even followed them to Texas. Abner bought 120 acres at 75 cents an acre on January 18, 1861 eescribed as w 1/2 of NW quarter and SE quarter of NW quarter of Sec. 35, 14 N, 16 W.
