>From the "Secret Peace Society List" the name of the son of John Christy was James F. H. Christy who served UNION in the civil war: CHRISTY, James F. H. Company H, L, 1st AR CAV, Pvt/CORP, enlisted on 10 Sept 1862 at Searcy Co., AR. he was age 23 on enlistment and was born in Searcy Co., Ark. He drew an Invalid pension from Arkansas fro 1st Ar Cav., Co. H, L, Invalid 1887. I am sure Old John Christy was too old to serve, and don't know about Joseph Christy, if he was marched to Little Rock, he most likely joined up with the confederate unit that was the choice to keep from being shot for treason. That is the same unit my Mastin C. Jameson joined in the Confederacy. We have been having a discussion of JAMESON on the Logan, Johnson and Pope counties sites, and we found that our Lorenzo Dow Jameson (one time Sheriff of Searcy Co.), served in the Union 1st ARk Cav. , Co. H, as 1st Sgt. (among other units as well),and that Caleb M. Jameson also served in the 1st Ark Cav. WE don't know WHO Caleb Jameson belonged to (Family that is), he was born in Monroe Co., Tn. I will search the Confederate records to see if Joseph Christy served in the war.
