I have a John PAYNE and wife, Sarah, in the 1870 and 1880 censuses of Searcy Co. Their children were: Locky J. (female), Georgia A., William R., James W., Sarah E., and John H. Then in the 1880 census of Searcy Co, there is a James W. PAYNE and wife, Elvira, with their family. Both this James W. and John show a birthplace of GA. Are James and John brothers?
