Y'all need to know that each of the four (1850, 1860, 1870, and 1880) Mortality Schedules is a separate schedule that was a part of each of the these four census. These Mortality Schedules recorded ONLY the deaths that occurred during the 12 months PRIOR to the official enumeration date for each of these census (usually 1 June of the census year, but not always). If you KNOW a person died within the 12 months prior to the census enumeration date, the Mortality Schedule for that time period will tell you when, where, from what causes, etc. for that person. No other time period is covered in any of them. Mortality Schedules exist ONLY for the census years 1850, 1860, 1870, and 1880. Many folks on these lists have access to the "Arkansas Death Index" series compiled by Desmond Walls Allen and are willing to do lookups in them. These cover all deaths recorded in Little Rock after Feb 1914. If you're looking for a death that occurred *before* Feb 1914 or *not* during the 12 months preceding the enumeration date for the 1850, 1860, 1870, or 1880 census, your best bet is to contact the county in which that death occurred to see if any records exist there.
