In the New Year's message I sent to everyone shortly after the year 2000 began, I had intentions of passing on a bit of trivia for us tree-climbers to ponder and to wish everyone happy New Year. I just thought it was a relatively interesting observation. I had no intentions of upsetting folks and, apparently, starting another of these endless who-struck-John routines. I sincerely apologize to those of you who would have stated the message differently - to those of you who would have omitted the references to the millennium, thereby nullifying the observation regarding the probable number of generations created in a thousand-year span, which was the primary object of the message. I guess I'm safe in saying a new year began at midnight (maybe) last night. But, I guess I'm not safe in saying a new century began at midnight (maybe) last night nor in saying a new millennium began at midnight (maybe) last night. Again - my deepest apologies to all.
