Mrs. Louise Brint Jones is questioning why William Martin (same age) would be listed as the head of household when Peter Martin is the older brother. Mrs. Louise Brint Jones states, "I can't emagine them living with Peter & Rachel unless close kin." The following is the 1850 census of Peter Martin & Rachel (Shipman) Martin. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Schedule I - Free Inhibitants in Campbell Township in the County of Searcy State of Arkansas Enumerated By Me On The Twelth Day of November 1850. I have done a lot of research on William David Martin and his family in California. An intestate will of James M. Martin in 1854, (Johnson County, Arkansas), stated that William Martin lived in the State of Arkansas. See above in the U.S., 1860 Butte County, California census that William David Martin lived in the State of Arkansas in 1854, and in fact named one of his sons, James M. Martin.
