Have you noticed that three Jones' are listed in the 1850 Searcy County, AR Census? One was Soloman 70--B. NC; one was Susan 87--B. Penn. living with Granville and Margaret Hodges--B TN. and one was Alfred 48--B. NC. My ancestor Daniel Jones later lived in Searcy County. He was born in TN and his father was born in NC. This doesn't answer your question, but might give earlier possibilities. Solomon Jones was also in the 1840 Searcy County, AR Census
