Need some help tracing a THOMPSON. My grandmother's oldest sister, Emma Elizabeth Potter married William (Franklin) Thompson in Leslie, AR...May 24, 1888. Emma was 17 and William was 23 and it lists both of them as being from Leslie. I am trying to trace William....who his parents were, where he was from, exactly where he was born (one source says he was born 1866 in Conway Co) Emma and William had three children...Lilburn (L.E.), Rosa, and William Roy. Emma died in 1900 and her parents, Leander and Margret Branum Potter raised these three children along with their own 7. They moved from Leslie to Valley Springs about 1893 and they sent these children, as well as their own, to the Valley Springs Academy to school (my maternal grandmother, Ertie Potter (Wallis) started lst grade there in 1898, along with Rosa Thompson) After Emma's death, I do not know what happened to William Thompson. Did he die too? Remarry and move away? When Rosa and William "Roy" grew up they lived in Texas and L.E. lived in Albuquerque. Rosa married a Garth Daniels. "Roy" married a Ruth D'Acres.
