    1. [ARSEARCY] George S. Reeves & family
    2. Hello list. I am looking for information regarding George S. Reeves (b: Sept 9, 1857 d: Jan 16, 1935) and his family. He married Lucy Ann Griffin on Feb 14, 1882 in Searcy County. The following individuals are his children: Cora, Claudie, Famie, Ludora, Elton, Naoma, Joe, Lester, Iva, Icy, WIlliam, and George Leonard. I have just started researching my Reeves ancestors and have very little information regarding George's father, grandfather, and other ancestors. How can I locate the birth records for Searcy County? Does anyone have any family pictures? An aunt of mine said George is buried in Shady Grove Cemetery, but I have not been able to find a record of him there. Does anyone know where he is buried? If not, I may have to visit the area and cemetery in person soon. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you, Lu Ann Pennybaker lpennybaker@aep.com

Linda Prater is a descendent of Green Reeves and Sintha Sooter Reeves. harddirt1@hotmail.com Roberta Woods is a descendent of Green Reeves and his first wife Delilah. rjwoods@1starnet.com I am posting to the list because their has been some general interest in the Reeves and Sooter surnames recently. Hope this helps Judy

    3. If you'll go to http://www.rootsweb.com/~armarion, scroll down to Home Pages for MCAR researchers, click, scroll down to North AR Family Tree Farm, click - you'll be at a site that has more Reeves data than you can imagine. What's there *should* be checked against assorted public records such as census etc., but it sure gives you info on where to go and what to look for. And, if you have a problem with anything, feel free to contact Steve Bemrich, the page owner. He's very helpful.
