    3. I know this is Searcy Co., research, but thought someone might be able to help. I received this email below from a fellow Tennessee Shipman researcher. Janie Janie, I have a 1840 census on a William SHIPMAN of Sugarloaf Township Marion Co ARK Numbers are 110001 201001. Who is this William SHIPMAN and who are his parents? Joe

    3. Yep, this William Shipman family sure is in Sugar Loaf Township in Marion Co AR in 1840. But they're not in MCAR in 1850 nor are they in Searcy Co in 1850 nor in MCAR in 1860 nor in Searcy Co in 1860. Because there's also a Sugar Loaf Township across the border in Carroll Co (and Boone Co after its creation in 1869), it's possible this family might be found there in 1850. It's equally possible this family could be in Taney Co MO 'cuz folks flip-flopped back and forth across White River back then. You might try Byron Shipman silver@southshore.com. His family has been in MCAR "forever." They descend from a William Shipman from Hamilton Co TN.
