    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Lockhart/Sitton/Goodall Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.arkansas.counties.searcy/3560/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My great grandfather Calvin Lockhart born 1847 Indiana was a long time resident of the St Joe area. He married Lina Goodall around 1880. Their children were Isabelle b 1882, Grover Cleveland b 1888, David Edward b 1891, and Samuel J b 1893 all in Searcy County. My grandfather David Edward Lockhart married Mara "Maude" Sitton, daughter of Willis Sitton, sometine around 1920. David was killed in 1923 after attempting to relieve a bank of some cash. Does anyone know what happened to Maude Sitton or Lina Goodall.

    3. Hi Barbara, I had no intention of blaming the Ancestor Fair for anything. As for the lady who passed away, who did the books, I know who you're talking about, and I had a heated conversation with her, when I found MY Cemetery survey information in HER book, and she took all the credit for it. I researched that cemetery, 585 listed/marked graves, in 103 degree temps, and did not appreciate her using my information, without my permission, and not giving me any credit for it, and selling the books for profit to boot. She did admit that it was my survey data that she'd used. No, no one made me buy anything, but when you can't get the information anywhere else, and the cemetery books are available, then yes, you buy them. I was told that the books I purchased contained the info on ALL Searcy County cemeteries, and they don't. THAT was my complaint. 3. Jerri and Tony - I feel I need to say this to both of you. I have been attending the Ancestor Fair in Searcy Co., AR for about 10 years now. And I have found it very helpful in my researching in Searcy Co., plus I now have a booth in the fair. The fair itself is FREE - if you chose to buy anything from one of the booths that is selling information that is your choice. No one will make you buy anything. And you can exchange information with anyone and everyone that attends - FREE! About the Cemetery Record Books - if you will look in the front of the books you bought Jerri - it will tell you that it was written by a lady from OR - this lady did all the research and wrote these books a number of years ago. Long before the internet came along! She died a few years back - but someone in her family is now selling them. Why they are not on the internet - I cannot answer that, but you can bet that they will be in the near future, the rate this web world is moving! As far as the Ancestor Fair having anything to do with your problem is not correct - it does not have anything to do with your problem. So please do not blame the wonderful Ancestor Fair of Northern Arkansas for this. That is very unfair. Thank you - and please try and attend the Fair - it will be well worth your time - I promise! Anglin LaRue buried in Archey Valley Cemetery located in Van Buren County, Arkansas. Dates 1867 - 1915. I have books on cemeteries for several counties, Searcy and Van Buren being two of these. Since Van Buren Co. has only one book and Searcy Co. has 17, I checked Van Buren Co. first. The Little Red River runs along the Van Buren/Searcy County southern border. Archey Valley Cemetery is located in the corner of Van Buren County where Searcy/Pope and Van Buren Counties corner together. It is off Highwy 27 on Co. Road #254. There was one other LaRue buried here: Niva V. Larue 1872 - 1928 Arkansas had only started recording births and deaths in 1914, so you will be very fortunate if you find a death record on Mary. The first records were very few, especially in the very early years. Desmond Walls Allen has done index books with these early death records. I don't have this one, but our local library does have all four of them. I could possibly do a check for you the next time I am in town to see if Mary is listed.

    3. As to Benjamin Tutt, he may have tried to change his identity. Karen Deloach in 2006 says his name is Richard Benjamin "R.B." Tutt. that accounts for him in the 1870 Census, I assume the younger wife Emaline M. is not the first wife? I had understood that Dulcenia Tutt was the daughter of Dave Tutt, who was some sort of a Southern Guerilla during the war. Not that this surprises me, seems like all the Tutt family were very passionate about their beliefs. Don At 11:17 AM 11-02-07, you wrote: >Don > >Thanks for the census info. 3. Judy, I think that probably without doubt the Benjamin Tutt in the 1840 Searcy Co. AR Census is the one you are asking about. Shows that they have 5 girls and one boy at that time, the boy is under 5, guess that would be Jame H. Tutt. James H. Tutt shows up in the 1870/80 and 1900 Census with wife and two children. I don't know where Benjamin might be for 1850/60, have not done a lot of looking on that. I have always wondered if that is him listed in the 1870 Census as Richard B. Tutt 68 NC, and wife Emaline 43 NC, living with Thadson Campell and wife Susan M. residence. 3. Don Thanks for the census info. I am trying to determine if it was one of Benjamin's daughters who married Greenberry Adams. I know most everyone including the Marion County book states he married Dulcenia Tutt, daughter of Nancy and Hansford Tutt. This is not possible since in the 1860 census that Dulcenia Tutt was living with her mother Nancy in Marion County AR. Dulcenia, wife of Greenberry is listed in the 1860 Searcy County census along with Greenberry. They cannot possibly be the same person. The death certificate of Dulcenia and Greenberry's son Green lists his mother's maiden name as "Tutt". The name is not common. In fact in 1850 census there are only a couple of Tutt families outside AR.Benjamin seems the best bet for Dulcenia's father. Is it possible Benjamin changed his name because of the Tutt-Everret war in Marion County? I cannot find him anywhere in AR in 1850 or 1860.
