I remember when my son Alexander died of sids when he was just 8 months old, and I thought that was tragic. Tragic doesn't begin to describe what you feel when you lose children that have grown..I know that somehow it is God's plan, and one day..maybe I will know..but, off of that, I hope everyone is doing fine in your families..and will continue to pray for those that are sick and those of our families in the military..Lord only knows t! hat they need our prayers now..I worry about this war and what it is doing to these (mostly)young men and women..let me know when you get that stuff together..Do you know when the ancestor fair is going to be this year?..If it is still in June, I am hoping to go as my boyfriend will be in Little Rock playing softball and that will give me time to go to the fair and meet some of those that are there..Hope to hear from you soon..and don't get in a huge hurry looking for that stuff..I will be here..Thanks so much Ann..Always, Deama Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hi Angela, I'll try to make some sense here, and see if I can get all this straight. Noah A. Moreland, b. 1 June 1894 Washington Co, AR, Vineyard Twp, is the son of Martin Moreland, b. Feb 1854, and his first wife. Noah had siblings, Kansas Moreland, b. Apr 1884 AR; Vallie Moreland (female) b. Jun 1893 AR. Then Martin Moreland married on 11 Mar 1895 Sebastian Co, AR to Bessie Neiman, b. Dec 1879 in Columbus, Cherokee Co, KS. Martin and Bessie's children are: Bud Moreland, b. Feb 1897 Wash. Co, AR. Loney Moreland, b. Jun 1899 Wash. Co, AR. Possibly his name is Lonny/Lonnie. Louis Moreland, b. abt 1902 Wash, Co, AR. Nora Moreland, b. abt 1909 Wash. Co, AR. William Joe "Bill" Moreland, b. abt 1910 Wash Co, AR. M. Moreland married Manda J. Lee on 18 Feb 1886 Stone Co, AR. Martin Moreland married Bessie Neiman on 11 Mar 1895 Sebastian Co, AR. I also found people who MIGHT be Vallie, Kansas, and Loney: Per SSDI. Vallie B. Stephenson, b. 22 Jun 1893, d. 12 Dec 1990. Kansas Tinsley, b. 23 Feb 1884 (not Apr.) d. Jun 1976 Ok. City, Ok. Co, OK. Lloyd Moreland, b. 2 Jun 1899, d. Sep 1970 Cincinnati, Hamilton Co, OH. Then again, NONE of these three may be your family. Noah Moreland, b. 1 Jun 1894, d. Sep 1973 Bixby, Tulsa Co, OK. Maybe some of this will help, then it might just muddy the waters for you! Later, Bessie married Frank Thomas. 1920 census, OK, Adair Co, Lee Creek Twp: Thomas, John B. head 18 OK (Indian) Thomas, Lucius S. bro 16 OK Thomas, George L. bro 15 OK Thomas, Lucy J. sis 13 OK Thomas, Dora M. sis 12 OK Thomas, Edna J. sis 10 OK Thomas, Ruby E. sis 6 11/12 OK Thomas, Mary K. sis 5 0/12 OK Thomas, Bessie mother in law 41 KS Moreland, Nora dau 11 AR Next door is: Thomas, George E. 43 GA Indian Thomas, Susan J. 41 TX white and their children. Apparently, Martin Moreland married his first wife, having a child, Kansas, b. Apr 1884. Then he married Amanda Jane Lee 18 Feb 1886, who could be the mother of Vallie and Noah. Then he married Bessie Neiman 11 Mar 1895 and had more children. Is it possible that Martin and Amanda separated, and divorced, and Laura was born to Amanda 2 months after Martin married Bessie? My grandmother refused to tell my grandfather, in Stone Co, AR, that she was expecting their sixth child, when he told her he was leaving and wanted a divorce. (Div. Dec 1911.) My Aunt Gladys was born in June 1912, and he never even knew she existed until she was 12 or 13 yrs old. He never had anything more to do with his first wife (my grandmother) and their children, until after all the children were grown. So, anything is possible. Jerri Ritter Ada, OK. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Angela Gammill" <angelrgamm@hotmail.com> To: <arsearcy@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, February 15, 2007 3:56 AM Subject: Re: [ARSEARCY] SEEKING THE ELUSIVE NOAH MORELAND! > Thanks for your suggestion, but I already know about Gary Treat's site. > In > fact, I've found a lot of helpful info there.
