    2. Dorothy Boynton
    3. Friends/Allied Family Members are invited. The Wolf Family Reunion will be held at the Community Building in Salesville, AR on Saturday June 23, 2007. Registration will start at 8:00 AM with family portrait at Wolf House at 10:00 AM and trip to Old Wolf Cemetery at 10:30 AM. A hotdog lunch will be served back at the Community Center at 12 noon with business meeting and program to follow. The "Family History Lesson" will be a great treat this year - so we are keeping the details under wraps for now. We will display the Table of Contents for the digitalized items (1000+) contained in the family history preservation collection. You can find out what we have been able to get scanned, so far, and what the format of the material is, and what the status of the project is. We welcome all member of the family and its allied branches as well as any family friends to come and join us. Be sure to get your star on the family tree, showing your line of connection, if it is NOT already there. We would like a head count of the lunch bunch. So e-mail b-view@centurytel.net to let us know you will be there for that. We would like for you to bring pictures and other documents to share. We will have a scanner available for use. The computer data base will be available for review. We are using the time for a work session to try to get an individual digital portrait as well as an individual video of everyone in attendance. 3. If you are talking about the posting by Daniel Harnden - I was just on his web posting this a.m. Go to Rootsweb. Put in Ananias W. Horton. When the world connect comes up. Click on that and just keep going down the page until you get to his posting. His id # should be 2937955. If you put in the name "Ananias W. Horton". Only one listing will come up (or it did just awhile ago when I tried it again.) Hope that helps. Carol Lay

    3. It looks like from the rootsweb page by Daniel Harnden, that people believe Ananias Horton was the out-of-wedlock son of Mary "Polly" Horton (1823-1863) and a Mr. King. That would explain why he sometimes went by King. Mary was the daughter of Isaac Horton (1788-1858) who immigrated from New York to Tennessee to Searcy County. Here's that family tree again: http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:2937955&id=I67133 - Heather http://hblair.uchicago.edu/ On Sun, 13 May 2007, James Johnston wrote: > Bit of information about Ananias Horton: In the 1862 Searcy County tax > list there is an Ananias King, which I believe is Ananias Horton. > Ananias King is in Co. 2. Mary Horton, granddaughter of Revolutionary War Boatman Isaac Horton became pregnant by a Mr. King, and subsequently had his child, who she named Annanias. Mary Martha lived with either Mr. King or her parents until approx. 1857 when her son was a teenager. At that time she married Greenberry Manuel, who had previously been married to a Watts. 3. Bit of information about Ananias Horton: In the 1862 Searcy County tax list there is an Ananias King, which I believe is Ananias Horton. Ananias King is in Co. F (Campbell Twp) of the 45th Ark Militia (Searcy County) from Nov 26 to Dec 20, 1861. There is also an Ananias King, age 17, in Wayne Co TN 1860 census, in household of S. A. King (Dist #8, Victory P. O.) He is listed last, just below a Benjamin King, age 37, who may be a brother (?) of S. A. King. Since Ananias (King) Horton claimed birth in Wayne County, TN, and family legend says that he went by the name King, there may be a relationship here someplace. Of course, by the time he enlisted in the 3rd Arkansas Cavalry (Union) January 1864, he used the name Horton. JJJ

    3. Does anyone have any links to these Fosters? Henry A. Foster (Jan. 1851 - 1919) born and died in Searcy Co., spent some time in Missouri as a young man before returning to Arkansas about 1879. Married Mary A. Reed, daughter of Ralph Reed, in Missouri. Henry's parents were John Foster, b. in Tennessee (?) and Nancy (last name unknown) also born in Tennessee. John's father is believed to have been Henry Foster of Virginia, b. about 1790, d. before 1860, probably in Searcy Co. Henry may have lived in Kentucky before going to Tennessee. It is believed he is the same Henry Foster found on the 1840 old Carroll Co., tax list. Known children of Henry Foster and Mary Reed: William A. Foster, Sep 1877 - ? Henry J. Foster, 1880 - ? James A. Foster, Jun 1883 - ? Franklin N. Foster, June 1892 - ? Charles Foster, Juky 1894 - ? 3. Contact Ann McDonald the list administrator. She has photos of graves at Canaan Cemetery just outside of Marshall, Searcy Co., Arkansas. That is where Ananias is said to be buried. Date of death is 13 Jan 1928. He married Mary Jane Johnson dau of Robert Johnson and Hannah McCarson. If you have access to Ancestry.com, there is a posting that indicates that Ananias father was "Unknown" King and mother was Mary Martha Horton, dau. of Isaac Horton and Mary Polly Watts. Isaac Horton was b. 1788 in Ulster, N. Y. and died1858 in Leslie, Searcy Co., Arkansas. After his death, Mary md. Greenberry Manuel. Hope that helps. It will be like pulling teeth to get a death certificate from Arkansas. I understand, Little Rock did not require them until 1932. The funeral home in Marshall burned down in the early 1900s and the courthouse burned twice. Carol Lay

Sure do appreciate the information every one sent in response to my query. Maybe things will work out and I'll be able to get a dc for 'ole Ananias - was able to get one from Oklahoma for my g-grandpa who died in 1912. Thanks again! 3. Sheryl: The information I have is that Ananais died Jan 13, 1923, and is buried at the Canaan Cemetery in Searcy Co. I have his father as Unk. King. But, he apparently retained his mothers maiden name, Horton. See the June 1996 issue of the Searcy Co. Ancestor Exchange for more information on this family. The above information is not from my own personal research but from others who have helped me with the Horton family. I'm sure there are others who can add more information than I have here.
