    1. [ARSEARCY] Martha "Mattie" Taylor Morgan Gamble Grant
    2. yvonne henson
    3. Hi Listmembers, Hope all had a restful holiday. I have some new information and more questions I hope someone can help me with. 1900 census for Pope County, Lee Township lists Lewis Gamble with wife Mattie Gamble b 5/1870, daughter Lori b 11/1891, daughter Lona E b 12/1893, step-son Will Morgan b 12/1885. It also states that Mattie is the mother of 3 children with 3 living and that Lewis and Mattie have been married 12 years. I have a marriage license for Louis Gamble age 21 of Atkins and Martha Morgan age 19 of Atkins 5/31/1888 listed in Conway County. I have another marriage license for Wain Grant of Atkins and Mattie Gamble of Atkins 1903 Conway County. I have Wayne and Mattie in the 1910 and 1920 census for Hughes County Ok. Listed with them is a son Claude Grant. On the 1910 census Mattie is listed as the mother of 2 with 1 living. Now for the questions. I would like to locate a marriage license for unknown Morgan and Martha Taylor it should be about 1884. In any county between Randolph and Conway . I would like to establish that Martha's parents are Thomas "Tommy" Taylor and Mary Jane "Pop" Justice. They were from Randolph County Arkansas. I think her birth date is between 1868 and 1873. What happened to her Morgan husband and to Lewis Gamble? Did they divorce , die or quit the marriage? Why were her daughters not listed with her on the 1910 and 1920 census? Where were they? Why does she say she is the mother of 2 children on the 1910 census? What happened to Will Morgan? Does anyone have him in their line? I know Lori/Lura, Lona and Claude are deceased. They are all buried in the Holdenville Cemetery in OK. I have some emails from relatives but the information handed down is sketchy at best. If anyone has any suggestions or can help with any of these people I sure would appreciate it. This is about as far as I can go. Thanks in advance for all your help and have a great New Year with your research. yvonne ____________________________ Colorado Springs, Colorado reply to henson@rmi.net web page: http://www.rmi.net/~henson Names I am researching: Main lines: BRENT(S), GRANT, EDMON(D)SON, HENSON, MCARTHUR Co-lateral lines: BRAZIL, CARLOCK, HARPER ____________________________________________________________________ Get your own FREE, personal Netscape WebMail account today at http://home.netscape.com/webmail

There's a bunch of them. I couldn't live without her Searcy Co 1860, 1870, and 1880 census as well as all the marriage and cemetery books. Her works are a God-send to Searcy Co. researchers. 3. Mrs. Ruby Lacy died just a couple of years ago. She lived in Oregon. AND her books are STILL in PRINT. James Johnston would be your best source of information on this - he has listed Ruby's books in his Searcy County Exchange, so I know they are still for sale. Ruby's books are also for sale at the Ancestor Fair, which James Johnston is in charge of each year in June - held at Leslie, AR. So don't give up Lynn - they are out there. Good Luck!
