Posted on: Searcy County, Ar Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ar/Searcy/11501 Surname: Williams, Wright, Campbell, Arnold, Mathis, Polk ------------------------- Janie, I have always heard the M was for McKinley but have not proven that as I haven't seen it written anywhere. Wm is a tough one as is his father who is supposedly Thomas W? Williams b 1815 TN. I haven't placed either in Searcy co. I haven't been able to investigate much. Searcy Co has a great library at Marshall and a very good genealogy section but tho I was there earlier this year didn't get do all I would like to have done. T W Williams and Susan were married in 1848 probably TN, and are buried in Dardenell in Mt Zion Cem in Yell Co. I believe that is just over the Pope Co line. Susan died in 1895 and Thomas in 1917. His tombstone says he was born in Tn don't know the county. Have no idea who his parents or siblings are. Don't know any of William's siblings either at this time. Sorry..But you could be right, possibly related.

Posted on: Searcy County, Ar Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ar/Searcy/11498 Surname: Williams, Campbell, Wright, Arnold, Mathis, Polk ------------------------- Janie I don't believe my William M Williams could have had two families. I don't know his birthdate but he died in 1894 and is supposedly buried in Dardenelle in Yell Co. along with his parents T W and Susan Wright Williams. We think our Williams people came to Searcy Co after 1880. William and Harriet were married in Hickman Co Tn in 1872. Thats about all I know about them. Harriet later married James M Scott abt 1897 or 98 and are found in the 1910 Searcy Co census, Calf Creek Twp. Were your Williams family from TN?

Posted on: Searcy County, Ar Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ar/Searcy/11496 Surname: Lasater, Waters ------------------------- I am searching for my greatgrandmother Zadie Lasater, I have only recently found out that we do not know her real maiden name, she took on the last name Lasater of some people she was living with, in the Alberta Mountains area. She lived with one family until (2 version of the story) 1. another girl that was living there hit the woman with a piece of firewood and killed her. 2. the woman hit the girl and killed her. Then she went on to live with the Lasaters on a ranch. Does anyone have any proof of any of this? She married Robert Newton Waters they had 8 children, then after she died Robert and the kids moved to Lawrence County, Ar
I may be in the Marshall area on Memorial Day this year. It just so happens my husband has some old friends who live there, and that isn't too far from where we will be visiting in OK. My maiden name was Arms and my Dad was born in Witts Springs. I would like to visit the cemetary there to see if I can locate any family graves. Is the cemetary easy to find? Thanks Diana (Arms) Binney
Help :) Could someone give me good directions (I've already had bad ones <g>) to the cemetery? I'll be headed that way in June, from Oklahoma, I-40 to 65 highway north. Somebody please take it from there and help me :) My cousin John and I had a wonderful time looking for it several years ago, but never had any luck, we ended up at Baker :) Thank you!!! Teresa
