    3. Mysty...there were lots of Sheriff's Census for numerous early years, I can't name them all, and everybody remember the Agricultural Census data, in ALL THE EARLY YEARS.(1830's, etc.) I have two great great and great grandfathers who were in the Voter Registeration List of Yell Co., 1868, 1870 and 1872, then in 1873 (don't know WHY on odd year) of Yell County they are BOTH gone.......in 1873 Lewis Greenwood married Susanna Jameson of Searcy County, I believe his father Radford Greenwood may have moved up on the Buffalo with his son for a few years, by 1880 census Radford Greenwood was back in Yell County and Lewis Greenwood and wife Susanna Jameson Greenwood were in Scott County census marked through....but it was them....they actually settled in Logan Co...the taker may have been lost that day they were the only family on the marked out page......it did survive even with XXXXXXX thank goodness. Do we have Voters or Tax list for 1873-about 1877 that survived for Searcy County??? 3. Oh, Gina. I'm sorry. That was a typo. It should be the 1880 census. All Federal census have been enumerated decennially - every 10 years. Historically - primarily back in the northeastern states after 1790 - a State census would be taken now and then, usually halfway between the decennial federal censuses. And there was a Sheriff's Census for AR in 1836 (I think), but only a couple of counties survive (the sheriff was the tax collector back in those days). Sorry about the typo, folks. 1. [ARSEARCY] Willis Shelton HORTON/Lucinda Ann TREAT family
    2. Gary Treat
    3. Hi again everyone. I'll try to stay out of your hair for a while after this one! :) I have quite a few holes in my data regarding the children of Willis Shelton HORTON (1881-1964) and Lucinda Ann TREAT (1882-1952). Hope somebody has some info. 1) A son, Ray HORTON, born about 1903, was married to Ray HENSLEY in 1920. What became of them? 2) A daughter, Lettie HORTON, born about 1905, and may have married Quinton STILLS in 1922. What became of them? 3) A son, Roy Sylvester HORTON, married Alice WILLIAMS in 1927. I do not have any information on her. 4) A son, Coy HORTON, was born about 1915. That's all I know. 5) There were apparently daughters named Fay and Nertha and a son name Melvin. Anybody know anything about them? Well, that's it for now. Your help is appreciated. Gary Treat __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! 3. Hi list, Pinkney M TREAT (1879-1947) was a son of Richard T TREAT and Sarah J Emaline PRITCHARD. He apparently died in Ruppert, Van Buren Co, AR and is buried in Pleasant Grove Cem in Van Buren Co. He married in 1906 at Searcy Co, AR to Sarah WESTERN. They had a son Riley TREAT, born about 1908. Pinkney later married Rhoda PICKLESIMMER. I have been unable to find out what became of either of Pinkney's wives or of his son, Riley. Anybody have any clues? Were there other children besides Riley? Thanks for you help! Gary Treat __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Check out www.rootsweb.com/~txrusk/relative.htm That will give you something to think about. I'm still trying to locate someone who has Barnes in their files. Great-grandfather Edward Barnes born abt 1858 Ga, married Mary Francis Taylor dau of Garrison Taylor and Betsy Atnip Taylor, in Searcy Co, came to Searcy Co before 1880. His mother Susanna J was married to William M Woodard in 1880 census, Calf Creek Twp and had a number of Woodard children and Corbin Barnes. Do some of the Woodard's have this info? Wm and Susanna lived the rest of their lives in Searcy Co. they are still in the 1910 census.

Do you know about when they came to Searcy Co. Usually they came in groups. Mine apparently didn't get into Ar until after 1880 because a couple of Wm and Harriets children were born in Tn 1875 and 77. They may have gone some place else before arriving in Ar. I had heard (don't know where) they had a young son named Johnny who died and was buried in Kansas?? This may be something my grandfather or grandmother mentioned years ago.
