Would like to hear from anyone researching the family of George Washington Kesner. I am a descendant but there are children of this family that I know little or nothing about. I also do not know the last name of his wife, Elizabeth. He was the father of 7 children, Edna who married Albert J. Sooter, William A. who married Phoebe Hankins, I am a descendant of this line, Thomas, born about 1834 who married Emaline, Jasper, born about 1835, Martha, born about 1837, Joseph M. born about 1839, and Jane born about 1840, I know nothing more about. Would be happy to share any information that I have with any researcher of this family. Sincerely, Wilfred W. Kesner [email protected]

Poll tax Searcy Co AR Sterling Redman 1840-1866 [almost every year or at least every year it was taken and there are records] J.L. Redman 1840-1865 [same] Wm Redman 1851 & 1853 N. Redman 1851 John L. and Sterling are my kin. Does anyone know who Wm. and N. Redman are? As far as I know there were no other Redmans in Searcy County until Elizabeth "Brown" Redman in the 1860 Campbell Twnshp household of Isaac Shipman. The poll tax records are from a transcription and could be in error. If correct, though, they might lead to the missing husband of Eliza "Brown" Redman Shipman. Can anyone confirm?
Should have read rest of your letter and yes, I would love to have any info on this family. Yes, it does, and I was so please to find that information in the real estate folk's book and publish it in the "Searcy County Ancestor Information Exchange." I knew that "Aunt Linnie" had married a Cole, but I thought it was Dr Samuel's son, James. This proved to me that she had married the father, Samuel. Samuel married Lucinda Malinda Sullivan, about 1863/1864, and had two children to survive into adulthood: Tennessee Belle Cole, b Nov 25, 1864 and Sarah Priscilla Cole, b May 5, 1867. Lucinda Malinda Sullivan had previously been married to George A Yates, who was killed/died a Confederate soldier in April 1862, leaving "Aunt Linnie" with a daughter Mary A Yates, born Feb 11, 1861. More info about "Aunt Linnie" and her daughters available, if you are really interested. .Do any of you researchers have anything on a Luther Payne from Searcy County after 1920. I think the spelling is accurate, but not sure. Luther married Nellie Shipman after 1920 (she was living at home then). Nellie was born about 1905 in AR and grew up in the St. Joe area, daughter of Dave Shipman and believe that Luther Payne grew up in the Tomakawk area. Looking for them after 1920. Thanks, Janie
