Does anyone have bead on a Wm Bratton born about 1849. I have no clue where - or anything else ... just, that he appeared in time to marry Tennessee Nichols, Apr 20, 1884. In 1880 - Tennessee was living with her parents in Richland, she's my grandfather's sister. Regards, Laurie
Paul Bratton and Martha Bond married on 16 Nov 1806 NC, so their children HAD to be born 1807 and after. I have: Thomas b. 1807; Hannah, b. 1808; William Milliken b. 1812; Benjamin S. b. 18 Jan 1815; Sarah Rachel, b. 6 Nov 1821; Martha Ann, b. 1825; John S., b. 1828; Nancy C., b. 10 Nov 1829. There's most likely four children born and died, in between some of the above--given that they had children about every 2 yrs. Between Hannah and William; between Benj. and Sarah; and between Sarah and Martha. But----????????? This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/2V.2ADE/520.1 Message Board Post: Hi Karen, I am 6th generation in this long line of Hightowers. John and Nancy were my gggg grandparents. Shaunty Hightower was my grandfather. I am a little puzzled. My mother was told that Shaunty was of full indian descent and for some reason thinks that he may have been adopted. On his obituary it only has his mothers name Martin listed. Any ideas that you could maybe help me with? Also, trying to find out Shaunty's wife Pauline's maiden name. I have 4 generations to add to this tree. How do I do that? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The KIMBALL/KIMBELL and the KIMBRELL families do not appear to be related in Searcy County. They may be related farther back, but I do not know. Because the names are so similar, and because they used some of the same names (William for instance) The William F KIMBRELL who was born abt 1832 in Perry Co, TN, the son of Elias Harris KIMBRELL and Malinda THOMPSON, and who served with his father in Co I, 3rd Arkansas Cavalry (Union) and who died March 13, 1919 in Wiley's Cove, and is buried in the Sulphur Springs Cemetery, is not the same William KIMBALL/KIMBELL who was born abt 1828 in TN, the son of Basil & Charity Elizabeth (Betty) BREWER KIMBALL, who was hung by jayhawkers abt 1863 at Zack (Kimbell Spring) in Searcy County. Wm KIMBALL married Providence Matilda NORMAN in 1849. Wm Kimball (1828-1863) was a Peace Society member, but I have found no record that he served in either CSA or USA during the Civil War. William F KIMBRELL and his father Eli KIMBRELL are listed in the 3rd Ark Cav records spelled KIMBALL. These are not easy relationships to figure out, as the names were so often misspelled at the time. JJJ Kathryn Graehl wrote: >Thanks for posting this story! Thanks for posting this story! Does anyone happen to know the names of any relatives--the wife, for example? There was a William F. Kimball married to Providence Matilda Norman--he was also in the 3rd Arkansas Cavalry (Union). However, as far as I know, he was killed by bushwhackers during the Civil War. Just wondering if this is a related family. My ggg-grandfather Archibald Dodson Napier was also in the 3rd Arkansas Cavalry and he too was killed by bushwhackers, right after the war. MORE FROM THE CD Ancestor Exchange Benson Fox: A Civil War Story William Kimbrell was in the Army [Co. I, 3rd Ark Cav (US)], during the Civil War. His family lived on Kimbrell Creek, Searcy Co., Ark. Hi James, I just got down to this e-mail. We would love a copy of the transcription. Snail mail, e-mail, or fax? What is the cost of the info exchange and how do we join? Unless you want a copy of the original, I think I can provide a copy of the transcription. JJJ lloyd rose wrote: >Can you tell me if this ledger will be available at the ancestor fair this year? We have a Hanna Cypert in our family, married a John H. Gray in TN in 1939... Jesse Cypert was married twice: to Elizabeth Horton and to a Mary West. Eliz. and Jesse married about 1832 and had one child in1834, Eliz. dying in 1834 or 1836. Jesse md. Mary West about 1836 and had several children. email me and I'll send you what I have. Jerri E in2life2004 @yahoo.com (without the space) -----Original Message----- From: James Johnston [mailto:[email protected]] Dortha, I do not have any new info on the Darks, but I looked at the censuses on Ancestry.com, and I found the 1870 Fourche Twp, Pulaski Co census. Delilah Dark, who could very well be the Dilly Dark, Bill Dark's mother in 1850 census. I found Delia Dark age 46 in the 1860 census, Pulaski County, Little Rock. She was living with a James A Hutchings. This appears to be the same James Hutchings with whom she was living in 1850 (along with Bill) in the Little Rock hotel. There is no Mary Dark with Delilah/Dilly/Delia Dark in 1850 or 1860. In 1860 I found Baker Cypert, age 79, with wife Malinda, age 75 and a daughter Mary, living in Red River Twp Searcy Co. This is probably not the Mary Cypert who shows up in the 1870 census, as that Mary has children Mary C-14, Delilia-12; William-12; Thomas-9, Francis-6, Eluise-1. I don't know who this Mary Cypert is/nor who her husband was. There may be a younger Baker Cypert, but I don't know about him.
