If anyone has access to names in any of the Cemeteries that may be in what was Spring or Bear Creek or Calf Creek or maybe even Sulphur Springs, isn't that near, would you check for a Nancy Elizabeth "Lizzie" Guthrie born July 1873 on census and year would be correct or very close. Dear Eric, Where did your Essie live? My dad has a painting of his granddad Rufus Blair's fruit stand in Fayetteville from the 1930s or 1940s. Rufus was from Searcy County, but moved to Fayetteville in 1928. - Heather http://surgery.uchicago.edu/hblair/ On Sun, 5 Jun 2005 [email protected] wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/2V.2ADE/1835 > > Message Board Post: > > I'm searching for artwork of my great-aunt Essie. I see one of the names you are researching is Steen. My husband had an aunt by marriage who was Jessie STEEN who married Arthur Rigney in Hamilton, Hamilton Co., TX probably in the early 1920's maybe earlier than that. We thought she was from Arkansas, but have no information on her at all, do know that they left Texas about 1940/45 went to Santa Ana, CA and worked in the airplane factories. If she fits into your family, I would be interesed in hearing from you. My niece, Whitney Holsted, is hoping to spend a few hours in the Marshall area sometime in the next two-three weeks. Her plans are not definite at this time. She would like to drive up through where the Welcome Home community is located. Is there any place locally where she can get a map of the area. I have not been there in 20 years and just don't remember any details. Am I correct in thinking she needs to go up HWY 27 from Marshall? Any suggestions much appreciated. Judy

I did not see the photo you are talking about but I believe I have several snapshot type photos of a McElroy reunion somewhere in Searcy County in the 1940's. I don't know anyone in the photos. I would be happy to scan and post them when I return to the US (either in September or December). I would also be happy to share whatever info I have (going back to a Patrick McElroy who emigrated from Ireland in 1655). Regards, Duane Beard
