Barnes younger brothers. I have a reproduction of this picture, but it may not be what you want. Please advise. My older brother never did find out who J.J.'s dad was , but I have found two possible matches. I do have a copy of his book and I am putting the family on Ancestry.com. It will take about a month to finish it on here. I am only attaching the actual Census links to those I know to whom they belong. I do not speculate, as many I have seen do. These are the facts as I know from the book, and many I have talked to. My older brother acquired this information from family members and copies of old Bibles he had researched from 1955-1981. These are in the possession of one of his family members, and I do not have access to them. I have tried for years. He left us in 1989. I may be contacted at 405-224-9216 or larrybarnes5@suddenlink.com or boomer_barnes_2000@yahoo.com.

    1. [ARSEARCY] Bowman Turney
    2. heather e blair
    3. I'm reading my December 2006 Searcy County Ancestor Exchange and I've really enjoyed the article on Slay Cave. I have a question about Bowman Turney and Isaac Turney. I have that Bowman Turney was the son of Issac Turney and Mary Gilliam (and brother of my 4g-grandfather, Joseph Turney, who stayed in DeKalb County, Tennessee.) I don't have a brother named Isaac for Bowman Turney, but I can't say I've thoroughly researched this family. Bowman's brother Lemuel had a son Issac born about 1823 (and so old enough to be in the Mexican War). Bowman also had a first cousin, Isaac, born 1809, who lived in Carroll County on the 1850 census. Could the Isaac in the same unit be one of them? Thanks! - Heather http://surgerysupport.uchicago.edu/hblair/

    3. I have that Henry and Martha married 15 Dec 1850 in Bear Creek Twp., Searcy Co. Henry was at home with his parents in 1850 census. Have not been able to confirm an 1850 census for Martha. Would like to confirm the identity of Martha's parents. Information received quite sometime ago indicated her father was John Grinder, but have no dates of birth or death for him. Henry and Martha were in Bear Creek Twp. in 1860. Henry died in 1864 and Martha died in 1861. Their dau. Hannah Elizabeth was living with Martha's sister, Hannah in 1870 census. If anyone has 1850 census information or information on Martha's parents, would appreciate hearing from them. Help is always appreciated. Thank you. Carol Lay
