Hi Barbara My name is Patrick Sehorn and I subscribed to ARSCOTT a few years ago when I was tracing my ancestry back to the Revolutionary War because I wanted to be a member of the SAR. My great grandfather lived and had a farm in HON. His name was William Henry. (My dads name is also William among other ancestors. It appears to be a family name.) He had another farm south of HON I believe that was close to the Sehorn Cemetery. We visited Waldron many times as kids and enjoyed it very much. One of the ladies in the Museum told me about a Sehorn Bible and many family names are in it. She said she saved it from being thrown away as she was familiar with our family name. There are many Sehorn ancestors in the Sehorn Cemetery which is always fun to go visit. Our Revolutionary ancestors name was John Sehorn. Some other family names we are related to are Bennett, Deadmon and Hunsucker. Thank you Patrick Sent from my iPhone > On Mar 1, 2020, at 9:58 AM, Barbara via ARSCOTT <[email protected]> wrote: > > Please introduce yourself and let us know your connection to Rootsweb....you sign yourself as a subscriber???? > In a message dated 3/1/2020 8:31:00 AM Central Standard Time, [email protected] writes: > > Today marks the last day Rootsweb mailing lists working. > Tomorrow, the Rootsweb mailing lists are no more. > All messages that had been posted here are saved and archived, will continue to be accessed and read. > Subscription, no more > Postings, no more > Replies, no more > BUT ! > Successor lists are here, but at another place > The successor list for this list is: > https://groups.io/g/Arkansas-Genealogy > sorry, no county list for this one, yet but the list owner may create "subgroup" for the county alone, within this state list. > Go to the site and "join this group". Thanks Patrick...I used to know Patsy Sehorn but haven't seen her in several years. She volunteered at the Historical Society. You can always get some good info at the Scott County Historical Society in Waldron if you're still searching. I am Jack James. My parents are the late Jack Woodrow and Zella Mae Goff James. I first connected to the Scott County site looking into the Smith, Buchanan, Pool, Solley, Gray, Tidmore lines. My ancestors were in the Packsaddle Community and some are interred in the Packsaddle and Freedom Cemeteries. I've really enjoyed the Rootsweb site in the past and hope the new digs will be as friendly and helpful as the old one.Jack James [email protected] -----Original Message----- From: Barbara via ARSCOTT <[email protected]> To: arscott <[email protected]> Cc: Barbara <[email protected]> Sent: Sun, Mar 1, 2020 9:58 am Subject: [ARSCOTT] Re: End of an Era - Rootsweb Mailing List's Last Day (Arkansas) Please introduce yourself and let us know your connection to Rootsweb....you sign yourself as a subscriber????
