I am still trying to find any information about Elizabeth McClain. All I know about her is she died about 6 weeks after my grandmother was born. About 1892. She married George Washington Essman and they had 2 children. Alec and Susan Elisabeth. Alec died when he was about 20. Grandpa Essman remarried Nancy Elizabeth Harper and they had several children. My grandmother, Susie, died in 1973 in Polk County, AR. All I know about the Terrill line is that William Beal Wiles (my great grandfather) married Gemima Or Jemima Wiles. My Wiles line were in Scott County, Polk County and LeFlore County. Thank you so much, Robin in Colorado
Hi Robin, I possibly have a contact (whom I've never met) that was a "McClain." Any information I can obtain, I will pass on to you. As you know, my Dad's mother was an Essman (Callie). My Dad was Toney H. Adams. Will be in touch. I have some information on a Commodore (McClain)? There is a Mary Commodore on the Scott County 1870 and 1880 Scott County Census. The same group is listed on the 1900 Indian Territory, Choctaw Nation, Township 3. I had explored this line briefly as the source for my McClain line but, from the evidence it wasn't my group. Hope this helps.
