Clarice, as she preferred to be called, was born October 19, 1911 to Jim and Veda Wagner in Nola, Arkansas, the second of five children. In 1934 Clarice married Arlis "Arky" Thompson. Ten years later, they moved to Kansas City, KS where Arlis was employed by North American and after the war, for TWA from this he retired. Arlis passed away in 1980. Clarice worked as a cafeteria supervisor at Lindbergh Grade School in Kansas City for many years. She enjoyed sewing and cooking, and her specialty was bread, cakes and pies. One of her favorite activities was singing gospel music. Clarice was an 80 year member of the Church of Christ, with her last membership being with Westside Church of Christ in Kansas City, KS. Clarice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and one sister. She is survived by her son Donald and his wife Tina of Kansas City, MO; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service was at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Nola Church of Christ with burial following at Parks Cemetery, Nola, Arkansas.
