    3. Not sure if you are wanting DNA testing costs still, but if you go to www.familytreedna.com and look for pricing, it is always cheaper to do it through a surname project, rather than just a stand alone test. So you would go to the heading "Projects", then click on the beginning letter of the surname you are wanting YDNA to be tested for. Then once on that letter scroll down to see if the surname you are looking for has a project. If it doesn't have your surname then you can always start a project page from what I understand. I would always order at least the YDNA 37 marker test or higher because you will get better matches with more dna to compare to. I did the 67 marker test for my brother. Testing prices change every few months it seems like. You can get some pretty good discounts through the project pages too. For instance as of today their prices say $169 for 37 marker, $268 for 67 marker, $359 for 111 markers. But if you go on the project pages the price is $149 for 37 markers, $238 for 67 markers and $339 for 111 markers. But once in a while they will even slash those prices even more. So just check back now and then to see what they've got going on. As far as their Family Finder test they have it for $289 right now. Ancestry.com is running cheaper rates on that right now, which they call AncestryDNA test for $199, but if you are a member you can get it for $129 right now. I don't care to do the YDNA testing through them, but they do offer it for 33 marker test at $149 and 46 marker test at $179. I think that the mtDNA tests are basically worthless as far as giving you any useful information. Basically all of my matches just say that I have a common ancestor with them some time in the last 60,000 years. So you don't learn much from it. At least I haven't. Hope this answers some questions about pricing for you. Patty On 1/24/13 1:03 PM, "Linda Pollock" <[email protected]> wrote: > > >Linda M.
