For some reason it didn't appear with her earlier posting but is very useful information and if any of you have run across other nicknames I hope you'll post them here so they can be added to this list Sharon has made: One of the problems most researchers have is the inconsistency in given names appearing in records and documents, especially with females. It can be frustrating to say the least when “Mary” turns up on one document and “Polly” on another. I have put together a list of names that I have come across while doing my research.
