FRUEN is my maiden name. My father is Grady Fruen, his father is William Edward, and Will Ed's dad is Joseph Fruen. Joseph Fruen was born between 1834 and 1838 in England. I have no idea where in England. This information came from census records in Monroe Co and Yell Co AR. I do not know when he immigrated to the US or whether he came alone or with family. The first record I have of him is in 1861, which I found at familysearch.org. He married Cordelia DICKERSON, a widow in 1861 in Monroe Co AR. In 1862, a J C FRUIN enlisted in the Confederate Army and went AWOL the following month. He appears on the 1870 census of Monroe Co and the 1880 census of Yell Co. Cordelia acquired land through a federal land grant in 1883 in Yell Co AR, stating that she is the widow of Joseph FRUIN. (It was spelled Fruin on this record). Henry Calvin DICKERSON was in Yell Co in 1887, and paid personal property taxes. Josephine DICKERSON married William WALT in 1875, was home in 1880 as Josephine DICKERSON, all in Yell Co. I have not found anything further on Josephine. Evaline DICKERSON married J J SOLOMON in 1878 in Yell Co.
