Thanks to both Barbara and Juanita - my branch of the Tates, Wilsons, and Hutchinsons left Scott County soon after 1900, but we had "Chocolate gravy"; in fact, I still make it, but I toast the buttered biscuits first. I haven't tried to make teacakes in a while, but I will make them for Thanksgiving, as a reminder. Is it genealogy? Of course; the most lasting and loved traditions come from our kitchens. Betty
