Glenda Brothers Page 294 Says : 159 Thomas Yandell (William Jr., William ) B. ca 1803 in Mecklenburg Co., N.C. When he was seven years old his father moved the family to Sumner Co., Tenn, It was in that county that Thomas served as witness to a land transaction between William Yandell, Jr., and Woody Martin. From the age of his eldest child reported on the cen. of 1840, it would appear that Thomas m. ca.1830. This wife was Lucretia Boland, b. CA 1811 in Ala. Prior to 1840 , Thomas took his family to Ark. where they were reported in Greene Co. on the 1840 census. A daughter b. 1830-1835, was reported on that Cen. but was missing from the family when the 1850 Census was in progress. Perhaps Marriag accouted for her absence. From Greene Co, Ark. the family moved back to Tn. and setteled in Haywood Co. They were living there at the time of the 1850 cen. All of their children were named on that census, with the exception of the two younges, Menerva and Josephine, and their eldest day Mary Jan. Their childen were: 1. Mary Jane Yandell b. 4 Jan 1830, d. 20 May 1916: m. John Livingston Jenkins, b. 4 Dec 1820, d. 9 Aug 1872. Both are bur. in Bethany Cem at Bethany Missionary Baptist Church in Graves. Co., KY (foregoing info obtained from Mary Jane's death cetificate and from P. 216 of Graves co., KY cem vol I published for the Graves Co. Cen. Soc. in 1981) 2. William Yandell b. ca 1832 3. John W. Yndell, b. ca1834 4. Elizabeth Yandell b. ca 1837 5. James Franklin Yandell b. ca 1839 Ark. `6. Thomas Jefferson Yandell, b. ca 1842 7. Adaline Yandell b. ca 1847 8. Emiline Yandell b. Oct 1849 10. Minerva Yandel b. 1879 in Johnson Col, Ark. J. K. Baskin, bl in the area of Johnson Co. in 1852, the son of J. M. Baskin and Melissa Laster, residents of Horsehead Twp. Minerva and J. K. Baskin had the following children. all b. in Johnson Co., Ark. i. Virgil Q. Baskin b. ca 1881 ii. Chester D. Baskin, b. ca 1883 iii. Bonnie A Baskin b. ca 1885 iv. Maud M. Baskin, b. ca 1887 11 Josephine "Josie" Yandell also reported to have been m. to J. K. Baskin GLENDA'S NOTE: quite possibly child 10 and 11 were the same person.
