Last night I added the 1870 Scott County Census Index to the webpage. Now I'd like to ask for some input from any of you who may have Civil War pension applications for your ancestors who lived at any time in Scott Co. I would like to put transcriptions of these records into the Scott Co. Archives. I will begin by adding two that I have, both Union soldiers: John P. Newborn who lived and died at Parks and served from Scott Co. and William F. Cates who served from Missouri but lived at Boles after the war and applied for his pension from there. I think these pension applications will be useful information in that they often include affidavits from various people in the neighborhood where the applicant lived. Please let me hear from any of you who may have copies of your ancestors' pension files and are willing to have them added to the Archives. If you are unable to transcribe them but are willing to send me a photocopy I can get them transcribed for you. Thanks! Delaine
