This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------B353671D8A Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Thank you all for all the responses!! Much much appreciated!! I followed Harvey's suggestion and it worked! I had tried to use Notepad, but that didn't work, so I tried Wordpad and it worked!! I copied the text and pasted it into Wordpad, saved it to a disk as file name. ged and it automatically turned into a Gedcom file that FTM would open up! Thank you, too, Richard, you may have told me the same thing and I just didn't understand. You guys on these lists are great! --------------B353671D8A Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline Return-Path: <HarveyBottoms@CSI.com> Delivered-To: char@presys.com Received: (qmail 12571 invoked from network); 4 Dec 1998 04:17:22 -0000 Received: from smtp6.site1.csi.com (HELO NIH2WAAF) (149.174.183.75) by preferred-sys.presys.com with SMTP; 4 Dec 1998 04:17:22 -0000 Received: from mail pickup service by csi.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC; Thu, 3 Dec 1998 23:16:53 -0500 Sender: HarveyBottoms@CSI.com Received: from harvey-bottoms (hil-qbu-ppu-vty191.as.wcom.net [209.154.55.191]) by hil-img-12.compuserve.com (8.8.6/8.8.6/IMS-1.6) with SMTP id XAA07474 for <char@presys.com>; Thu, 3 Dec 1998 23:16:48 -0500 (EST) Message-Id: <199812040416.XAA07474@hil-img-12.compuserve.com> From: "Harvey L. A gedcom is just a textfile with an extension of ged with appropriate written instructions built in front of each line. All you need is to copy the gedcom information into a text file such as notepad or wordpad and be sure to save it as text and with an extension of ged.
