Hi All, I hope all of you have enjoyed the activity from this mailing list over the last few days. Now, I'd like to ask those of you who posted your surnames or other information: Did you receive any useful information in response to your posting? Did you locate any new "cousins?" Please let us know here about the results of your posting. Those of you who received no replies from your posting, please wait a few more days and then I'll be asking some questions of you, as well, and perhaps you can post a more informative inquiry and receive some help. The List has been so very active over the last few days and it will take some of the subscribers awhile to read all the postings and you may receive replies yet. I'd like to remind all of you and especially the newer subscribers, that this Scott County Mailing List is provided by Rootsweb in conjunction with the Scott County USGenWeb page, which is located at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~arscott/scott.htm On the webpage you will find some Scott County records, indexes, queries, lists of surnames, lookups provided by volunteers, photographs, Scott Co. maps, etc. Information is also provided there about the Scott Co. Historical & Genealogical Society and a list of their many publications that are available for sale. This mailing list can be a useful tool in providing you with contact with others researching the same area and possibly the same families you are, but only if you _use_ it!
