His name had been handed down as John Culp, husband of Effie McCormack. A very sharp 94 year cousin said this was John Culp's grave. The name printed on the tombstone was JOHN CAULF; SPANISH AMERICAN WAR; PVT TRP G5 REGT CAV and his year of birth 1880 and year of death 1906. He and Effie were married in 1906, so they wouldn't have been married very long. They lived in Scott County. Does anyone know anything about this couple? Also, I would like to know if he died in the Spanish American War. Can anyone tell me how I would find out any information on him. Thanks for any information you can give me.
