I apologize that I am late responding to the request over the weekend to list the families we are researching from Scott County. Delaine has been very helpful and I have found several things through her. Also, L. Dale Epperson has been of great help. The families of interest to me from Scott County are the HALL and HOLLIS/HOLLACE families. Specifically, the Hall family begins with James Carter Hall of SC->AL->AR. He moved to Scott County in the fall of 1860 and was killed by Bushwackers during the Civil War. His son James Carter Hall, Jr. moved with him and served in the Civil War as a Confederate Soldier. J.C. Hall, Jr. married (1) Sarah (Sallie) C. Hayes in 1868 (b. TN, d. 1878) He then married (2) Margaret Hollis in 1880 (b. 1855, d. 1922). He died sometime between 1892 and 1900. J.C. and Margaret had Thomas Jefferson Hall in 1885. Thomas Jefferson Hall married Sarah Lee Vinelee Paralee Penland (a very long name) in 1904. She was from Park, AR. Is Park in Scott County?
