I received an email yesterday from an individual that is writing a book on a "Sarber"from the areas we're discussing. I inadvertantly deleted his message,but his email is mihodges@ualr.edu The reply I gave him is at the bottom of this paragraph. Apparently they were in politics.Like who isnt if theyre rich etc. John at lrjwj@aol,com Palm Springs Sarbers name was associated with TK May a prominient Store owner. The May Co. I'm told is of this origin. My ggrandpa O.C Ludwig was an editor and owner of several area newspapers and married into the May family abt. 1885. This marriage was set up for political reasons and financial advantages as intended by TK May. O.C Ludwig became State Post Master,then by 1888 became chief clerk to the US Senate followed by 3 terms as Secretary of State of Ark. The papers I have just mentions Sarber as a "Cronie" of sorts of the Mays and Ludwigs. John
