    3. Barbara, if no one comes up with anything better, look up 1860 AR census, you will have to give them some info, or get on ancestry. Mildred ----- Original Message ----- From: "mimmikar" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]>; "ARYELL" <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, October 15, 2011 2:37 PM Subject: [ARSCOTT] Mary France Crenshaw I'm trying to help a Crenshaw descendant whose ancestor was Mary Frances Crenshaw. Mary was born October 25, 1854 in Arkansas. In about 1869 she married Isaac John Allen Warford. Mary and Issac both died in Heavener, LeFlore County, Oklahoma in 1899 and 1927 respectively. What we are trying now to determine is who Mary Frances' parents were. I suspect it was Overton Crenshaw and Harriet Boultinghouse. The Crenshaws were in both Scott and Yell Counties. 3. [email protected] was kind enough to answer my query on why this very useful genealogical site was no longer active.  Seems that the web site owners are having health issues and can no longer afford the time and financial committment to keep it running.  It will be sorely missed.  I know i used (abused?) it very frequently and I was a volunteer for Denton County, TX.   My I suggest that any of you that can afford a little time in your county of residence post a short notice on your rootsweb site that you are available to look up an obit or take a tombstone photo - within reason.  Also indicate if you would required reimbursement for gasoline or copying /postage costs within reason.   Thank you very much [email protected]   I am available to take digital tombstone photos for Southern Denton County Texas - no charge.

    3. I'm looking for information on one of Jonathan McCarty's wives and she was named Melinda (see 1860 census below). I found marriage records for the 1st and 3rd wives but not wife number two.   I believe Melinda's daughter Hannah married John W. Parker of Scott County, Arkansas (son of Jefferson Parker and Mariah Frances Williams).  Hannah and John has at least four children:  Louisa Ann, Morticia, Mary S., and John M. Parker. If you know anything about her - especially a marriage record to Jonathan - it would be so appreciated. 1. Re: [ARSCOTT] Floy Millard Jamerson
    2. Patty Archer
    3. Barbara, I am not sure of the answer to your question, but I will email it to a relative that may have an answer for you. He descends directly from this line of Jamersons, J.C. being his uncle and Dona his mom. See info below for background info on J.C. Jamerson's ancestors. I will see what I can find out on your question. I believe she was still living when J.C. died. Not sure if she remarried. Patty (Jamerson) Archer J.C. Jamerson was the son of John W. Reed Jamerson (1856-1943) and Sarah Victoria Daley. John Jamerson is also buried in Egypt Cemetery without a stone. John was my GG Uncle, younger brother of my Great Grandpa Willis Franklin "Dock" Jamerson (1852-1916). Their father was Allen Clay "Clay" Jameson/Jamerson (b. 1815 KY d. 1868 Waldron, Scott Co., AR). Clay was married three times. 1. Cyntha Ware (b. 1820 MO d.c. 1850 Lincoln Co., MO) m. 8 Aug 1844 in Lincoln Co., MO ch: Thomas J., Nancy (b. 1846 must've died as a child before 1860), Jessamine Z. (possibly Zelpha, as Cyntha's mother's name was Zelpha) Cyntha must've died about 1850 after the census was taken in Lincoln Co., MO. 2. Mary Ann McGuire (b.c. 1832 d.c. 1858 Scott Co., AR) m.c. 1850/51 not known where ch: Willis Franklin, John W. Reed. They may have married in Montgomery Co., MO, which is next door to Lincoln Co. and the courthouse burned several times, all records prior to 1902 lost. Or they may have narried in AR. Clay must've moved to Scott Co., AR by about 1855/56, as John was born in AR in 1856 (death cert says 1858, but 1860 census shows him to be 4 years old). Willis was either born in Lincoln Co., MO or in AR. Probably Lincoln Co., MO as his obituary states, not AR like the death cert states. 3. Mary A. ________ (b. 1838 VA d. 1870-1880 Scott Co., AR) ch: Julia A.; Robert G.; Louella "Lucy" Cymantha; Malinda Isabelle. Mary A. was Cherokee Indian according to my granny and according to Mary A.'s descendants. My theory is that she is the Mary A. Perkins on the 1850 Scott Co., AR census, dau of John Perkins and unknown Indian mother. She also had a sister named Lucy A. It appears that John several times possibly to a and had a son, James L. born in the Creek Nation. In 1850, John W. Perkins (blacksmith) was 30 NY, Frances Perkins 23 KY, Mary was 12 VA, Lucy A. 6 AR (insane), James L. 1 Creek Nation. John W. Purkins is in the 1870 Scott Co., AR census: John W. 45 KY; N.E. 23 MO (must be a new wife); L.A. (Lucy) 14 AR; S.C. 1 AR (female); Joseph Harris 1 AR. Lucy is living in the Archibald & Lucy Frazzell household in 1870. The 1880 census says shows Lucy living with Luther M. Lion (Luther Lyne on the 1870 census in the Frazzell house), and says she is his niece. So her mother must be a Lyne? Did Mary have the same mother? Willis' mother is listed as McGuire on his death certificate, and my granny always said her name was Mary Ann McGuire and that she died after childbirth with Julia, but it must've been with John. The 3rd wife Mary A. is not the same person, a family story tells of how after Clay died she did not treat his children from the first marriages nicely at all. Mary had remarried to Jesse Evatt in Oct. 1869, after the death of her husband Clay the year before. Willis left home and rode his donkey all the way back to Lincoln Co., MO where he had uncles, aunts and cousins living. He appears in the 1870 census of Scott Co., AR living in his older brother Thomas' house, along with his brother John. I have on 1 Jun 1836, an A.C. Jameson listed as one of the signers of an "Application for Construction of Levees on the Mississippi River Arkansas Territory" from American State Papers Vol VIII: p 709-711 24th Congress Session No. 1535, App for construction of levees on the Mississippi River, and the reclaiming of inundated lands in Arkansas Territory. So this is probably what brought him to Arkansas originally. Then he went back to MO and stayed there at least through 1852 before moving his family to Arkansas. Clay appears on the 1850 Lincoln Co., MO census living just a few doors away from his parents, George & Mary (Clay) Jameson. For some reason the names they list for the children are listed incorrectly as Robert, Nancy & Jane, instead of Thomas, Nancy & Jessamine. His marriage record to Cyntha Ware listed his name as Allen C. Jamerson. Clay then appears in the 1860 Scott Co., AR census listed as Clay Jimmerson. The next records I have on Clay are from a book on Scott Co., AR 1865 & 1867 Tax Records. I guess these records survived the courthouse fire? He is listed as A.C. Jameson in Hickman Twp., Scott Co., AR in 1865 and listed as A.C. Jamerson in Hickman Twp., Scott Co., AR in 1867. Clay's children: Thomas Joseph Jamerson (10 Dec 1845 Lincoln Co., MO - 25 Nov 1910 Logan Co., AR, while visiting his sister Lucy); m. Manerva Jane Jones 21 Feb 1867 in Scott Co., AR (info from his civil war pension papers). Children: Ruth; Allen Fletcher "Fletch"; Laura J.; Joseph McCullough; Mary Jane; Alice R.; Julia Isabelle; James Willis. Thomas moved his family around from Scott Co., AR to Lebanon, Laclede Co., MO in the 1870s, back to Scott Co. by 1880, then to Pine Bluff, AR and Poinsett Co., AR in the 1880s before settling in Briartown, Muskogee Co., OK area in the mid 1890s (IT then). Died before death certificates were issued in AR. Nancy Jamerson (1846 - bef 1860) Jessamine Z. Jamerson (22 Mar 1848 Lincoln Co., MO - 30 Dec 1908 Briartown, Muskogee Co., OK); m. 1. James W. Jones (bro to Manerva) m.2. ________ Stowe (must've been a brief marriage as she is buried under the name Jessiemine Z. Jones in Briartwon Cem.) They started out in Scott Co., AR, but by 1903 (she gave an affidavit to swear her brother Tom served in the civil war, and she signed her name Jessamine Z. Stowe) were in Briartown, Muskogee Co., OK. Ch w/Jones: Thomas Jackson; John A.; Susan A.; William J.; Charles Willis. Oklahoma says they do not have a death certificate on file for her. She is buried in the Briartown Cemetery. Willis Franklin "Dock" Jamerson (22 Aug 1852 Lincoln Co., MO - 27 Jun 1916 Lincoln Co., MO); m. Flora Ann Pierce (dau of Morgan and Martha Jane (Hines) Pierce, 1858-1921) 11 Feb 1875 Lincoln Co., MO; Ch: Green Montgomery; Mary Lula Jane "Lula"; John Morgan; Jessamine "Jessie"; Ira Russell; Lenora Maybell "Nora"; James Presley. They remained in Lincoln Co., MO. Buried in Highland Prairie Cemetery. John W. Reed Jamerson (10 Oct 1856 AR - 7 Jun 1943 Yell Co., AR); m.1. Ann Yandell 1878 Scott Co., AR, ch: Walter; m.2. Sarah Victoria Daley abt 1881 Scott Co., AR, ch: Donnie Artie (female); J.C. (male); Daniel Franklin (twin); Jennie (twin); Edna; Dona Dafie (female); Cora; m.3. Ada Johnston abt 1908 Sebastian Co., AR (she was married to Lewis C. Gamble 1st), no children. Robert G. Jamerson (1862 Scott Co., AR-1888/1889 Scott Co., AR); m. Julia Smith 25 Sep 1884 Scott Co., AR; Ch: Mary "Molly"; Bernie Louella Cymantha "Lucy" Jamerson (Oct 1864 Scott Co., AR- Sep 1954 Hughes Co., OK); m.1. Ruben Benjamin Smith 1879 Scott Co., AR Ch: William Ambrose; Carrie Emaline; Ella Etta; Rubin Harrison; Edna E.; Lela Louisa; Stella; Edgar Leroy Lee; m.2. Samuel N. Pennington 1901 Scott Co., AR Ch: Henry Arvil. She lived in Scott Co., AR through 1900, then by 1910 is in Logan Co., AR. By 1930 she is in McIntosh Co., OK with son Arvil. Told by family she died in Dustin, Hughes Co., OK. Sent for her death certificate, but OK claims she doesn't have one, although one descendant said he had a copy of it. Her parents are mistakenly given as John Jameson and Babe Bailey on the certificate, I was told. This was probably her brother John Jamerson and wife Sarah Victoria Daley that they put down for her, probably the closest thing to parents she had since her father Clay died when she was only 4 and her mother died sometime between 1870-1880, so between ages of 6-15. Malinda Isabelle Jamerson (12 Apr 1868 Scott Co., AR - 2 Aug 1952); m. John H. Hall 13 Apr 1884 Scott Co., AR Ch: Myrtle; Charles William; Bertha; Edgar Frank (twin); Oscar (twin); Bass Little; Maude; Hubud; Grace; Bonnie; Hazel F. They lived in Sebastian Co., AR. One of Bass Little's daughters told me that her grandma went by "Linda" instead of Malinda. 2. Bryce, I was looking last night at Nancy Jane but I didn't have a son named Osborn. I did have one born in 1914 as Orlean but I'm thinking that was an error. Thanks for the info - I appreciate that. Barbara In a message dated 7/8/2011 1:44:20 A.M. Central Daylight Time, [email protected] writes: Hi Barbara, I've got Osborn H. Jim & Vada's other children include: William Clarence, Clarice, Olmar Roscoe "Dick" and Alvanee. There may well have been more than five children in this family since the parents were married 02/21/1909 and divorced between the 1920 census and Vada's remarriage in 1935. Jim and Vada are both buried at Parks also. Since Jim's mother was Nancy Jane Hale, I'd have expected you would know about this connection better than I do -- I could very well be mistaken.
