    1. Re: [ARSCOTT] List of Persons and Property Assessed for Taxation in Scott County, Arkansas for 1865 and 1867
    2. Archer, Patricia E.
    3. Thanks for checking Delaine! Wasn't sure how long he stayed in Scott County. I know he was there in the 1860 census and signed up for the Confederate army in 1862 there too. He had family up in Newton Co., AR too, so I imagine he made his way up there at some point as some of his kids settled in that county. He was born in MO, probably Lincoln Co., MO area and lived there until about 1859 when he headed to Arkansas. By 1870 he was back in Lincoln Co., MO, although I've never found him on an 1870 or 1880 census I know he had to be in MO. He shows up on a March 1870 tax list there, and a son was born in July 1871 there, and a daughter married in 1875 there and another in 1884 there. Family stories say he moved back and forth between MO and AR several times. Sure wish I had him in the 1870 and 1880 censuses. He died in Lincoln Co., MO in 1885. In 1860 in Scott Co., AR he is listed as Price instead of Pierce. So I am good about checking for every possible spelling I can. Thanks so much for checking! 3. Does anyone have this book and can do a look up for me? List of Persons and Property Assessed for Taxation in Scott County, Arkansas for 1865 and 1867, compiled by Delaine Edwards and John P. O'Nale Years ago I found a copy of this book at the library, but have since then not been able to locate it there. I found my GG Grandpa Jamerson in this book. But it wasn't until after this that I found my other GG Grandpa Morgan Pierce on the 1860 Scott Co., AR census. Can anyone look to see if Morgan Pierce (other spellings would be Peirce, Pearce, Purce, Price, etc.) is listed in the book for either 1865 or 1867? Thanks so much. Patty (Jamerson) Archer

    3. Hi: I'm looking for the Johnson's that lived in Johnson and Scott Counties from about 1830 to 1900. My main brick wall is John H Johnson b. 1808 in KY; moved to Johnson County Ark about 1833 and to Scott County in the late 1850's. He died in 1866 and is buried at Waldron, Ark. His wife's maiden name was Mary Sweeden b. abt 1820 in TN, died 1895 in Scott County. I'm also looking for John H's son: James Elwood Johnson b. 1859 d. 1914 in Yell County. Any information relating to the Johnson's in those two counties would be greatly appreciated.
