Hi: I am trying to find a Tomlinson could have been named Tolbert and called Tom. To the best of my knowledge he married a Margaret Wright who died when her children were young. I think they moved over into the Talahana, Ok area. some of the children were Dona b. 1876, Nora and Ora twins married Renfro brothers Oliver and Charles. There were more but I don't know their names. If anyone knows of this family I would appreciate hearing from them. Oh yes, one more thing. Glad some one else is also thinking this way and understanding that it is serious work. This is some of my work not JUST to prove Indian Blood but to make it accessible. I have no proof but several different clues or maybe indicators: 1. A land records from Pulaski Co AR Bazil A. Hudgens found in the Cherokee Papers at the University of OK. 2. The names of Norton children in home of Sterling Hudgens 1860 census.( Col. JOHN NORTON did genealogy and documented it to the Cherokees in AR early. Would be glad to provide proofs.) (You put me onto this one Elaine.) 3. Grandparents Robert Perry Denton and Sally (Sara J.) Hudgens named a son who died young RIDGE. 4. A brother to Sally, Joe Hudgens told of his uncle selling his Indian Rights, Meaning the land. found a land grant to Henry C. Hudgens but not in William Hudgens selling the land. 5. In another line" Wood" mar to a Jamima Watts. This Watts line includes Gist as cousins. I have not done this tracking but have the line from others work. It touches so many in Scott Co such as Blankenship, King and Of course Hudgens. YES, I KNOW NO PROOF. I wonder what DNA would prove for me. See if we do our homework now the great splicing on the genes will be possible in the furture generations and able to remove the diabetes. I can only class this as an act of love for the children to come. Our work has many purposes and I feel ego and strength is only an little piece of the wonderful work.
