HI, this is not genealogy, but concerns each of us and thought I might pass it on: In case any of you get a message about the phone company going to charge for each time you use the internet, it is a hoax. Here is a site you can go to to check that out, and those "chain letters" and other "garbage" that says 'pass it on.' They are all hoaxes and listed in the site. http://urbanlegends.miningco.com/library/blhoax.htm Myrna

The work Delaine and other folks like her are doing is invaluable for this country, and our heritage. The past is lost more everyday unless it is saved. My sister is far more active in our search, and our family line seems to be south of Scott County. Again thanks for the hard work Delaine. Sincerely, David Campbell

    3. I am new subscriber and here is my family and my problem. I am trying to find the parents of my ggrandfather, Daniel Henry Minor/Miner, b. 17 May 1856, m, Mary A. Ledbetter on 26 Jan. 1876 in Bowen Twp. Madison CO, AR. according to the 1870 Madison CO census they were living as neighbors. Mary was 12 years and Daniel was 13 years old. Daniel was living with G.W.Smith. This is the earliest record I can find for Daniel. I have traced him to Scott CO after thier marriage. I think they had several Children in that town and around Poteau and Wister. Folk lore has him with a brother. I don`t know his name either. Maybe he came to Scott CO with his brother. If so I may find the name of the parents through him. I have been working on this for years and have come against a brick wall. Folk lore also says Daniels father married a widow left her to return to England. Not a very good father but these things do happen. I hope to find Daniels father some day and am asking for any help from anyone who reads about my plight. Thanks for listoning. Marily Minor Eberle

    3. I new to the list and this is my first posting. I am trying to find information on the COX families that lived in Scott County . I am especially interested in a William COX that married Malinda A. HENDERSON about 1860s timeframe. They were probably married in Scott County but I understand that a courthouse fire of 1880s destroyed all early records. They lived in Booneville AR (Logan Co,) which before 1875 was part of Scott County. Malinda Henderson Cox is buried in the Antioch Cemetery, Barber area, very near Booneville. Buried beside her is a son (W. M. COX) b-1863 d-1888. Would like to learn something about this family and who her husband was. May have been a William H. COX??? Other names: Kincannon, Reeder, Scott, Henderson, Baker, McCaslin, Would appreciate any help with this. Sincerely...Larry G.

    3. Hi, didn't quite know where to post this, but thought someone might be looking for this lady, and her history is quite interesting. ZONA RUTH POOLE She died in Fort Smith, AR on Nov. 6, 1998 at the age of 93. She was survived by two brothers. Oscar of Screveport, La, and Paul of Cabot, several nieces and nephews. Her Life: Zona Poole was born on a rural free delivery route of Horatio, AR, and grew up in several towns around in Sevier County. One school she attended was in Locksburg, which as she described it, a wide place in the road. Her parents were David and Mary Poole. They had ten children. Zona was the first to be born in Horatio. She never married and lived for many years with her bachelor brother, Lawson Poole. She and Lawson moved to Fort Smith in 1980 to be near their sisters, Ann Westfall and Louis Finney. Lawson died in 1985, as have the two remaining sisters since then. The two brothers, Paul , age 78, and Oscar, age 77, are all that remain of the 10 children. Zona liked to write stories, may of them about her life. She was 93 on March 9, 1998. (This info taken in parts from an article in the Southwest Times Record, written by Linda Seubold, and from Zona Poole's Obituary in the Southwest Times Record.) If anyone would like more info on this lady, I have the complete article and would be happy to share with them. Myrna Wells
