I used to track the Gentrys a bit some years ago, but found them to be too far afield from my specific line of interest, the Warfords. I do have some notes on John Gentry that may be of use to you: His first wife was Priscilla Graham, md 1 Oct 1812, Jefferson Cy, TN (Jefferson Cy Clerk records) He appears to have a second wife, Eliza. (1850 census, Hot Spring Cy). And then there is his third wife as you stated, Delilah Taylor. I’d say the reason John disappeared after his marriage is that he died. His son, Samuel F Gentry, was appointed administrator of his estate in Hot Spring Cy. 9 April 1866, HS Cy Probate Book E, pg 408. Also recorded in Saline Cy Probate Books.
