It is a real mystery. G.W. Roland wasn't born until 1870 or 1871. It would mean that his mother Emeline would have to have been involved somehow with a Sims around 1869 or so. Her husband Jeremiah was killed at Port Hudson in the Civil War. There were alot of Rowlands around Arkansas that weren't related to each other at all. None of the Rowland names you have mentioned match any that we have traced. Of course, not saying that it couldn't go back further than what we have traced. What was Thomas Rowland's middle name?
