In the 1860 census of Saline co she is listed as a widow with James, 21 living in the home. Was the listing about the letters from Lewis M. just that or did it show someone who had the letters? I am trying to gather info from the soldiers letters and writings for my thesis and his letters from prison would no doubt shed some light into his thoughts and feelings.
