I am new to this list and need to find a marriage record for James Anderson Russell and Margaret (Maggie) Florence Bragg. Their first child was born in Saline in 1893. He was Homer Horace Russell. Also, I have an article, copied from The Saline, Vol 16, No. 2, titled "History of Mt. Carmel Methodist Church." There are several mentions of my Russell ancestors in this article, but one puzzles me. It mentions Manley Russell as one of the first trustees and a footnote says that he was the "son of James, and Maggie Russell, born in 1874." It gives as source the 1880 US Census for Saline County, household 265. James would only have been 14, and Maggie would have been 9, in 1880. They could not have been Manley's parents. I cannot find any census record of Manley Russell and assume that that is a nickname, but who was he? I do know that James and Maggie moved to Texas sometime after the birth of their second son, James. They had five more children in Texas. James Anderson Russell was the twin brother of my grandfather, Ezekiel Curry Russell. They were sons of Alexander and Sarah Nelson Russell. Thanks for any help on the marriage record and on the solving of the Manley Russell puzzle.
