    3. I'm not related to the TUDOR family, but have gathered a few bits on Jarrett over the years. You probably already have all this info but I thought I'd go ahead and send it just in case. I don't have any further info. Carolyn **From _Arkansas Pensioners_ by Dorothy Payne (1985): JARED TUDER, Pvt, rendezvous at Little Rock, Arkansas on 13 August 1836, stationed at Fort Gibson. [But not listed in _Arkansas' Mexican War Soldiers_ by Desmond Walls Allen (Conway, 1988).] **_Arkansas Land Patents: Grant and Saline Counties_ by Desmond Walls Allen, compiler (Conway, 1991), p. 122: JARRET M. TUDOR, purchased from the US gov't, at the LR Land Office, 15 April 1837, Cash Entry, SESE, Sec 4, Twp. 2 S, R 14 W, 40 acres, and NWSW, Sec. 3, Twp. 2 S, R 15 W, 80 acres. **_Saline County, Arkansas Marriage Records_, Bobbie Jones McLane, compiler (Hot Springs, 1978): JARRETT M. TUDOR to Marintha PELTON, January 18, 1838, Book A, p. 8. (Also JARRETT M. TUDOR [s/o the previous JMT) to Louana Hope, Nov. 18, 1869, Book C, p. 186.) *** _Saline County, AR, County Court Record Book, Vol. 1: Jan 26, 1836-Dec. 31, 1839_ , transcribed by Sybil Crawford (SCHHS, 1988), p. 66: "On motion it is ordered by this Court that the following persons be and there are hereby appointed over Seers [sic] of the road leading from Colledgeville [sic] to intersect the road leading from Benton to Thos. Jenkins -- Thomas A. R. Rowland to be the over seere [sic] of the first Divison [sic] from the hurricane Creek to Colledlegeville [sic] and JARRETT M. TUDER overseer of the Second division from Hurricane Creek to where it intersects the road leading from Benton to Thos. Jenkins." (p. 70, July 18th, 1839.) *** [same as above] Vol 2: Jan. 1, 1840-Dec. 31, 1843, Crawford (SCHHS, 1988), p. 14: "On Motion JARRETT M. TUDOR is hereby appointed overseeor [sic] of the road leading from Colledgeville [sic] to the lower settlement on Saline from Hurrcane [sic] Creek to where the road intersects the road leading from Benton to Lower Settlement on Saline." Tudor, 1 M (30-40), 1 female (20-30), 1 male (under 5), Saline Township, p. 210. **J. M. Tudor on jury in trial of Hardin D. Cross for permitting gaming, 24 August 1840, from _Saline County, Arkansas Circuit Court Common Law Book A, 1836-1842_ , Eddie Landreth, abstractor (SCHHS, 1990), p. 40. Also on jury in the trial of John M. Hicks for affray, 25 August 1840, p. 42; and juror in the trial of Lewis and Lucinda Bagby vs. Asher Bagley for "trespass vie et armis," 27 August 1840, p. 45. NOTE: S. M. TUDOR was juror in a trial 24 Febuary 1841, p. 52, but is no doubt a typo for J. M. Tudor , Winney Tudor died intestate on or about 31 Aug 1848. Page 135," p. 9. [This can't be JMT's wife; is it his mother? sister?] **!850 Saline County, Arkansas, U. S. Census: D. 66, HH 73, p. 88: Jarrett M. Tudor (50), wife Marintha (28), 5 children. Married 1838. ** _Saline County, Arkansas 1860 United States Census_. Bobbie Jones McLane, transcriber (Hot Springs, 1989), p. 30: JARED M. TUDOR (59, KY), wife Amarintha (40, AR), and 7 children, plus Squire Giles (pauper), age 50, KY. Owen Township, Dwelling 348. {Since Giles is from Kentucky, as is JMT, and since relatives are often listed as "boarders," could Giles be related to JMT?] **_Saline County, Arkansas Probate Book C_, Sybil Crawford, transcriber (SCHHS, 1988): "WINTHA [should be Mintha] TUDOR, as Administratrix of the Estate of JARRET TUDOR, deceased, [Probate Book C, p. 547]," presenting first annual account, January 2, 1862; p. 2.
